2014 was a year of consolidation back in the classroom, along with some project work to bring in additional income (and interest).
In March there was a new album from Mike Oldfield called 'Man on the Rocks'. This had a few interesting moments, but wasn't to the same standard as earlier albums. There were spirited vocals from Luke Spiller.
Leland Sklar also provided the bass. He is one of those session musicians who has played with many of the greats, including Phil Collins. He has a very distinctive look...
Steve Lipson produced the album.
This track was probably the best on the album, remembering an evening in Ireland, drinking 'Moonshine'.
Bob Mould released 'Beauty and Ruin'.
Among the standout tracks from this album was the short blast of 'Tomorrow Morning'.
This was the year when every young girl was belting this one out... a great vocal from Idina Menzel.
Aimee Mann released an album with Ted Leo, called 'The Both'. The first single was 'Milwaukee' which referenced "the statue of Fonz and the duck".
