Sep 27: Home town tunes...

Are there any songs which feature your home town in the title of the track's name?

John Shuttleworth has 'Relatives in Rotherham' on his album 'The A1111'

I've previously mentioned some local bands such as the Reytons.

An earlier example was Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers.

They had a hit with this classic... this was one of three number ones they had.

What famous bands are connected with your own home town?

Aug 6: 2009

In August of 2009, J. Willgoose Esq performed some solo music he had created at the Selkirk Pub in Tooting, London.

Teaming up with the drummer Wrigglesworth they released an EP 'The War Room' in 2012 and became Public Service Broadcasting.

Bruce Hornsby released the album 'Levitate'. This has some classic tracks including 'Continents Drift' and 'Cyclone' - which have a geographical connection.

And he also conflated two geographical concepts in this track:

I was doing a lot of driving at this time, and this track from Owl City kept coming on the radio. It was one of several projects by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Young, who created the project while experimenting with music in his parents' basement. Owl City developed a following on the social networking site Myspace, like many musicians who achieved success in the late 2000s, before signing with Universal Republic Records, now Republic Records, in 2008.

This went to Number One.

Jan Garbarek released the live album 'Dresden'. I saw him play live this year - and every time that he has come to the UK for many years.

What were your favourite musical moments from 2009?
