1981 was the year when 'Moving Pictures' was released.
It's been mentioned previously on the blog, so I won't go too much more into it.
Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays released 'As falls Wichita, so falls Wichita Falls' - a classic album.
Two Sheffield bands were also active this year.
- Heaven 17 'Penthouse and Pavement'
- Human League's 'Dare'
Phil Collins 'Face Value' included one of the more famous drum breaks, with it's classic 80s' 'gated' sound on 'In the Air Tonight'...
This set off a decade and more when he was everywhere, and latterly he recognised that perhaps he did too much during this period.
