Nov 6: 'The Ascensionist' by Ranges

I saw this album for the first time in a record shop while walking back to Gent railway station in 2017 following a trip for an ERASMUS project. It intrigued me a lot, but had no name on the front...

I took a photo of the window at the time - it's the one here... there were also albums by pg.lost in the window - similar post-rock style.

I knew nothing of the band back then, but they are called RANGES, and are described as a post-rock band. They are based in Montana, USA.

I eventually tracked it down, and have since bought it, along with other releases from the band - on CD rather than vinyl.

Here's the title track being played in a live session by the band.

While we're on the theme of Ascension, that's the title of a fantastic animation that I first saw back when it came out. I contacted the makers of the film, and they sent me a full version of it...

Here's the film. I recommend a watch....
